Bali Visa Info – Bali Tourists.

It seems that for the past two years, Bali has felt the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The occurrence of a pandemic that automatically stops or reduces some community activities throughout the world, including Indonesia.

The government’s policy to temporarily stop the visit and transit of foreign nationals to Indonesia starting in March 2020 to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, Bali tourism has also been quiet.

Oasis in the Midst of a Pandemic

Over time, various countries have gone into lockdown to reduce community activities. Slowly all rose up with the ways and policies of their respective countries.

Likewise for Indonesia, the government’s decision to implement a trial without quarantine for foreign travelers to tourist destinations to Bali is a breath of fresh air for Bali tourism and is welcomed in Bali.

Not only without quarantine but also the government has re-implemented visa on arrival or Visa on Arrival (VoA) which has triggered a significant surge in the influx of foreign tourists, especially in Bali.

Reopening of Travel Accommodations

Before the Covid-19 outbreak hit, around 6.27 million foreign tourists visited Bali during 2019. On average, no less than 7,000 international travelers enter Bali every day.

During 2020, the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Bali was around 1.06 million visits, and throughout 2021, only 51 visits to Bali.

However, after the reopening of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali, as an entry point for international tourists starting October 14, 2021, Bali tourism has begun to show an increasingly better situation.

In March 2022, after implementing a visit to Bali without quarantine. Several tourist accommodations on Lembongan Island have resumed operations, and are preparing to welcome the return of tourists.

As seen in one of the tourist accommodations in Jungutbatu Village, Lembongan Island, Nusa Penida, Mahagiri Hotel.

For more than 2 years, the hotel had been neglected and not maintained after being out of operation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, in early February 2022, the hotel management began working hard to get it back into operation.

Implementation of Health Protocols And CHSE

As proof of the seriousness of every Bali tourism stakeholder in opening up to tourists, health protocols and CHSE (cleanliness, healthy, safety, environment sustainability) are carried out in every line related to tourism.

The purpose of this CHSE will make businesses related to tourism very important, where during the current pandemic the public’s interest in getting a vacation with health protocols is very important.

Bali as a Barometer of Indonesian Tourism

Bali as a showcase for Indonesian tourism is a barometer of the downturn and vice versa for the revival of Indonesian tourism during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The standard operating procedure (SOP) for welcoming foreign tourists has been formulated starting from arrival at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, several technical matters have been regulated.

Among other things, PCR was carried out, checking foreign tourists at the Port Health Office, swabs, immigration checks, picking up CHSE-certified taxis, implementing quarantine and hospital referrals if the swab results were positive.

The quality of tourists is increasingly important, rebalancing the point of balance with the negative impact of orientation on the number of visits.

Tourism Segmentation

The tourism model offered also needs to be prioritized on segments that are relevant to quality tourists.

MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions), the MICE market segmentation is almost certain to have good purchasing power, are more well educated, and have behavioral tendencies that are adaptive to domestic social norms.

Events that often bring in quality tourists consist of cultural events, sports and music.

Sport tourism is a quality event that is expected to be able to attract the tourist segment. For example, the presence of Mandalika, which has MotoGP and Formula 1 circuits, will attract the interest of visiting sports lovers. It’s not only Lombok that is involved but Bali has also been involved for the accommodations.

According to Travel Weekly Asia after months of gradually easing international arrival regulations including the elimination of quarantines.

VoA was again effective in early March 2022, Bali being the first to reimpose its VoA which is now being followed by airports in Jakarta and Yogyakarta.

Nearly 15,000 foreign tourists arrived by air during February and March with a significant spike recorded following the return of VoA.

Meanwhile, digital travel platform Agoda has seen a surge in searches for Bali among neighboring markets.

The island was ranked as the top search destination in Indonesia in early April, while the entire country was ranked third as a destination in Asia after Thailand and the Philippines.
