Taman Ujung or Taman Sukasada is a park in Banjar Ujung, Tumbu village, Karangasem sub-district, Karangasem, Bali.

History of Sukasada Park

In 1909 Taman Ujung was built, which was initiated by King Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. It involved a Dutch architect named van Den Hentz and a Chinese architect named Loto Ang.

Apart from foreign architecture, the construction of this park also involves traditional architecture, namely undagi. This construction also received instructions from Mr. Wardodjojo who is a technician from the Public Works Department.

Along with the development of this park, it was damaged during the Japanese occupation, the iron fence of the garden was used as a tool to fight the Japanese.

In addition, this park experienced an eruption and an earthquake from Mount Agung so that the beauty of Ujung Karangasem Park could not be seen.

It was only in 2000 that the Karangasem government made improvements to Sukasada Park without changing the original shape of the building which was the resting place of the king of Karangasem. This repair and conservation can be done with the help of the World Bank.
